Miracles of South Korea & Taiwan
Rising from the devastation of civil war—once poorer than its northern communist neighbor—South Korea achieved one of the most remarkable national transformations of the modern era.
Against all odds, it emerged as a global leader in innovation, culture, and prosperity. In a region defined by intense competition and constant pressure, it built some of the world’s most advanced and vibrant cities, while preserving a society renowned for its warmth, dignity, and deep respect for tradition and nature.

MODERN MIRACLES OF THE EAST

Welcome to Taipei!
The capital city of Taiwan, a dynamic Asian metropolis, known for its vibrant street life, rich heritage, and cutting-edge modern culture.
Our journey, beginning in the afternoon in Taipei, is to the Maokong Gondola, perched on the southeastern edge of the city. Gliding above lush trea plantations and verdant hills, panoramic views of Taipei unfold beneath us, offering a spectacular perspective of the city and surrounding mountains.
Next, we visit the iconic Taipei 101, a marvel of modern engineering that held the title of the world’s tallest building from 2004 to 2009. Rising 508 meters across 101 stories, its striking “bamboo shoot” design is instantly recognizable. High-speed elevators whisk us to the observation deck, where sweeping, bird’s-eye views of Taipei and its surrounding landscape provide a breathtaking finale to our journey. The lower floors house an upscale mall, offering a chance to browse or enjoy the vibrant atmosphere before we continue.
We visit the Shul Museum, where we are welcomed into the inspiring story of Jewish life in Taiwan. Through engaging exhibits and meaningful displays, we gain insight into the community’s history, traditions, and global connections, setting the tone for an exciting and culturally rich stay in this remarkable city.
Afterwards we enjoy a delightful dinner at the kosher restaurant on-site, savoring carefully prepared dishes that blend local flavors with traditional kosher cuisine.
After breakfast, we board our VIP vehicles for a day of Taiwan’s most iconic sights.
Our first stop is Shifen Waterfall, often called the "Niagara Falls of Taiwan." While not the tallest, its 40‑meter width creates a breathtaking curtain of water that mesmerizes all who visit.
Next, we head to Yehliu Geopark, a stunning coastal landscape sculpted over millennia by wind and waves. Here, the Queen’s Head stone formation stands as an iconic symbol of Taiwan’s natural beauty, and the panoramic ocean views along the pathways provide perfect moments for photos and reflection.
We conclude the day back at our hotel with a gourmet kosher dinner, expertly prepared to delight the senses and celebrate the flavors of Taiwan in true Gourmet Kosher Safaris style.

This morning, we set out for the breathtaking Sun Moon Lake, nestled amid the mountains of Nantou County. As Taiwan’s largest freshwater lake, its serene waters and surrounding peaks create a truly picturesque setting.
The lake’s name reflects its unique shape—the eastern side resembles a radiant sun, while the western side forms a delicate crescent moon.
We then take a scenic ride on the cable car, gliding over lush hills and the sparkling lake below, offering panoramic views that are simply unforgettable. Strolling along the lakeshore afterward, we immerse ourselves in the tranquil beauty, taking in the reflection of mountains on the glassy water and capturing perfect photo moments.
After this unforgettable day, we return to our hotel to savor our final gourmet dinner, celebrating the flavors, sights, and experiences of this extraordinary journey in Taiwan.
We leave our hotel in the morning and set out for one of Taiwan’s most spectacular natural wonders, Taroko Gorge.
This dramatic marble-walled canyon, carved over millennia by the rushing Liwu River, is a masterpiece of nature’s power and beauty.
As we follow the scenic walking trails and cross elegant suspension bridges, towering cliffs rise above us while waterfalls tumble into serene pools below, creating a breathtaking symphony of sights and sounds.
Throughout the gorge, countless viewpoints offer opportunities to pause, admire the rugged grandeur, and capture photographs that will last a lifetime. The combination of lush forests, sparkling streams, and sheer rock faces makes every step along the trail a journey through some of Taiwan’s most awe-inspiring landscapes.
*Please note that parts of the park were affected by the April 2024 earthquake. While certain sections are open to visitors, access may vary, and we cannot guarantee which areas will be available during our tour. Even so, the sweeping vistas, dramatic canyons, and natural majesty of Taroko Gorge promise an unforgettable experience that will remain with you long after the day ends.
