Citizens of the U.S., most commonwealth countries, and Israel do not require visas to visit Croatia as a tourist.

Visitors must ensure that they have at least 1 blank passport page (non-endorsed page in their passport) for the entry stamp.

All travelers must have a passport valid for six months after the date of your arrival in Croatia.

The electric system in Croatia is the same as in the rest of Europe. Croatia operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

For Croatia there are two plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side.

Visitors from countries whose electric energy system is based on a lower voltage (110V) should check whether their devices can function on the European 220V system. Newer devices can most probably function regardless of the type of electric energy system, but there is no harm in checking, especially in the case of more sensitive or expensive personal devices.

If you forget to bring an adapter, you can buy a new one in most shops carrying electronic or IT equipment, while in tourist destinations they are often available in well-stocked newsstands.

Since Croatia is visited by many tourists from around the world every year, it is highly likely that staff in your hotel or other accommodation establishment will be able to assist you, at least temporarily.

June is considered one of the best times to visit Croatia because of its pleasant sunny weather. In June, Croatia enjoys comfortable temperatures throughout the country with plenty of warmth and sunshine.

The coastal regions, including popular destinations like Dubrovnik and Split, boast average daily temperatures ranging from 23°C to 28°C (73°F to 82°F). This makes it ideal for swimming and sunbathing.

It is also less crowded at these times than in the summer months of July and August which are high season and can be very hot, especially in the afternoon.

Prior to traveling anywhere, we recommend seeking a qualified medical practitioner’s advice about vaccinations and up to date precautionary medicine based upon your itinerary and personal situation.

All travelers should take out comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel that will cover any overseas medical costs, including medical evacuation.

If you require a particular medication, ensure that you take an adequate supply as it may not be available locally.

As of January 2023, the currency used in Croatia is the Euro.

As a currency used throughout many European countries, you have the choice of converting money before arriving in Croatia or converting your local money in Croatia. Where possible try and exchange your money in a bank or retrieve money from an ATM and try to avoid exchanging money at hotels or in a Bureau de Change as the rates are typically quite poor.

Most major towns and islands in Croatia including Zagreb and Dubrovnik, will have ATMs that are linked to international networks. The smaller towns, however, may not have ATM facilities available. Credit cards such as Visa and MasterCard are widely recognized and are accepted in most tourist areas; however, it’s always a good idea to have a small amount of cash if you’re travelling off the beaten track.
